The Marais neighborhood of Paris is filled with shops that are chic or shabby and everything in between. Toward the southern end of the Marais is Saint-Paul Antiques Village, a cluster of shops and ateliers. You’ll know you’re in the right vicinity when you see colorful banners announcing “Village Saint-Paul” hanging from the old walls.
Find your way into the cobblestoned courtyards.
Charles V lived here in the 1360s.Today there are shops selling antiques, lighting, furniture, cushions, bent-wood furniture, photographs, and more.
Cafés with quiet outdoor seating add to the feeling that you’ve stumbled upon someplace special and secluded, although literally only a stone’s throw from the Seine.
Open hours can be unpredictable. Shopkeepers have varied schedules and even those posted aren’t always reliable. Weekends tend to be liveliest. Maybe you’ll get lucky and happen upon a brocante as well.
